Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the 4th edition of AIR!  I am really in a laid back mood so I
decided to find an Antelope that reflects this, in a way.  11/30/91 can be
summed in one word as silly, imo.  Throughout the whole show, the guys are
doing pretty funny and unusual things, but the show is really relaxed and
not intense at all.  I enjoy it very much and so I thought I would touch
on the RLAA.  I haven’t really talked about the older stuff so this will
be first try from that era.
(Also, I am leaving out the times for this one, yeah, I am feeling that
lazy!)

I Didn’t Know -- 
pretty silly as usually into...

Antelope -- (immediately)... Trey and Fish on it right away... pretty laid
back and cheerful sounding.  Page into the intro with those rag-time riffs
following the lead of his bandmates.
Mike in there as well adding strength and then...


BAM, BAM, BAM, POW  --Opening theme with Trey very relaxed playing minimum
riffs to make it still Antelope.  
Really nicely executed trill, though, into...

KEY change to E minor -- relatively morose feel with nothing special from
anyone for the several first bars of the jam.  Page and Trey start in with
the back and forth stuff and Trey eventually drones out the other and
heads for a bizzare direction, but then returns to the dark, muddy jam at
hand.  Trey and Page again building and rebuilding... it is so nice to
hear such eloquent phrases and communication within the band.  Trey rips
into 2nd gear out of a primitive but very coherrent jam!  
Trey and Page again making it happen.  New heights are being reached and
Mike and Fish are heard pushing the tempo and rhythm steadily.  Trey slams
it into third gear and the ball is really rolling now.  Wild jamming and--
A Simpsons tease with DOH!!! Wild... they are really together and an
evolution of sorts is occuring with the jam.  It sounded a bit rigid at
first but is now erupting!!! Trey extends a bent note lazily skyward but
then...

PRE MARCO GROOVE-- Utterly Mike and Fish... spacey echo in the back from
Trey.  I love this segment!  Seems very accurate but not focused at all.
Just a drifting, stoney feeling, in a way, with no real flubs or anything.
Hammering by Trey... where is Page?  there he is... coloring the jam with
his organ.  This is a pretty sophisticated groove segment, almost beatnik
in feel.  and then... 
“Ry Ry Rocco”-- in a totally far away voice, longer pause then usual
before:
“Marco Esquandolas”
Would you happen to have any Spike, Man?
pretty mellow, but nice, right into: 

RUN Theme (in D again)!  Run, Run, Run, Run....
Very together with enthusiastic chordings from Trey.
Gearshift segment comes from on high!  Trey sounds a bit distant on my
recording, and not really in touch with the audience...  it still seems
very together and not flakey in the least.  

End shortly thereafter without unusual jam or anything.

I would rate this as an utterly average version at best.  I chose to
discuss it simply because of the relative obscurity of this tape (not that
it’s rare or anything).  Also, because I haven’t touched on anything quite
so old before.  Ultimately, I would like to trace this song’s evolution
throughout the years and various tours.  But that’s for another day,
another show, another Antelope-
