Why am I reviewing this old version?? Mike's Song does nothing..
typical old version, with eerie, off-key, mind-numbing bullshit
"soloing" from Trey overtop a typical tramps section jam. Nice
drums
from Fish I guess. Closing chords begin around 5:37. These
old
versions are complete dogshit in light of recent versions. Nice
smooth > into Hydrogen at 6:05, though. Nice Hydrogen.
Weekapaug kicks in at 8:55 with a good opening solo from Mike -- he
kicked ass even back in 1990. All of you drooling over recent
solos
from him should check out what he could do 7 years ago. Trey
teases
the Andy Griffith theme around 10:45 or so, in the jam segment.
Really excellent accompaniment from Mike, Page and Fish... before Trey
takes off around 12, doubling the intensity of his soloing.
Aaaaaahh.. here's why I'm reviewing this. Trey starts profoundly
soloing, showing off for someone, around 12:30.. ton of 16th notes.
Excellent soloing to close out this 'paug. Wow-ing the crowd
no
doubt.. niiiiiice work around 14!! Trey's just haulin' ass.
Closing
segment begins at 14:30, with the closing lyrics kicking in at 14:45.
Total time: 15:31. Excellent old Weekapaug.. C+ rating for this
groove.
two cents
